Rimmer & Roeter Selected as General Contractor for Buildout

Good Shepherd Gymnasium Named Through Transformational Turner Family Gift

CHELAN, WA — The Lake Chelan Community Center (LCCC) announced the next major milestone in its campus development with the selection of Rimmer & Roeter Construction as general contractor for the completion of the Gymnasium and Performing Arts Center (PAC).

Construction will include the full buildout of the gymnasium and the completion of the adjacent parking lot, marking a significant step toward bringing the Community Center’s full vision to life.

Rimmer & Roeter Construction, based in Cashmere, was selected following a competitive process that evaluated experience, familiarity with the existing structure, team strength, and overall project approach. Their deep knowledge of the building and proven track record in the region positioned them as the right partner for this important work.

Work is expected to begin once final financial commitments are secured, with an estimated construction timeline of approximately seven months from start to completion.

The total investment required to complete the Gymnasium and Performing Arts Center reflects both previously completed construction and the ongoing buildout.

When combined with prior investments in the building shell, infrastructure, and key elements, the six-million-dollar contribution by Tim and Kristy Turner will complete the total project investment for the Gymnasium, Performing Arts Center, and parking lot.

This investment represents a major step forward in completing one of the essential elements of the Community Center campus.

“This is a defining moment for The Community Center,” said Brooke Isaak, President of the Board for the Seven Acres Foundation. “We’ve taken a thoughtful, measured approach to get to this point—making sure every dollar is used in a way that delivers long-term value to the community. The gymnasium and performing arts center have always been essential pieces of our vision—spaces where creativity, connection, and spirit come together. With the right partners and the support of our community, we’re ready to take this next step forward.”

Giving the Gymnasium a Name

The project has been made possible through the transformational generosity of donors, including a lead gift from the Turner family.

In recognition of their gift, the Turners have been granted naming rights for the gymnasium, which will be known as the Good Shepherd Gym.

“We feel incredibly blessed to be part of something like this,” said Tim Turner. “Our faith has always been a guiding force in our lives, and the name ‘Good Shepherd’ reflects that. To us, it represents care, guidance, and a responsibility to look after one another. It’s our hope that this space will be a place where people feel welcomed, supported, and uplifted—and where the spirit of community truly comes to life.”

Once complete, the gymnasium and PAC will be a flexible, multi-use space designed to serve a wide range of community needs. Planned features include wood flooring, retractable bleachers, six basketball hoops, multiple volleyball court setups, locker rooms with showers, and integrated lighting and audiovisual capabilities to support performances, events, and community programming.

“From day one, this project has been about building something that truly serves the community,” said Jamie Rimmer, partner at Rimmer & Roeter Construction. “We know this building, we know this valley, and we understand how important this space will be. As a Chelan native and a 1977 graduate of Chelan High School, I find this project especially meaningful. Our team is committed to delivering a facility that reflects the pride and expectations of this community.”

Construction will be carefully staged to allow ongoing operations at The Community Center to continue as seamlessly as possible, with safety, access, and communication prioritized throughout the process—ensuring that even during construction, the spirit of The Community Center remains uninterrupted.

The completion of the gymnasium and performing arts center represents a major step forward in fulfilling the Lake Chelan Community Center’s mission to provide a welcoming, inclusive space for recreation, wellness, education, and connection for residents of all ages.
