The Community Center at Lake Chelan Celebrates GivingTuesday with a raffle and legacy options, joining millions around the world participating in the global generosity movement on November 29, 2022.

This GivingTuesday, The Community Center at Lake Chelan will inspire generosity by sharing the dream and telling our story during the popular Second Cup of Coffee program on KOZI Radio at 9:45 a.m. Ways that people can get involved include calling the show, purchasing “Legacy Pavers,” participating in a raffle, securing naming rights to a room or feature of the center, and joining the teen challenge known as “Leave Your Mark.”

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on November 29, 2022, and throughout the year.

The Seven Acres Foundation

Formed as a secular non-profit group in the Lake Chelan Valley – it is the engine behind the Community Center at Lake Chelan. To date, the foundation has raised pledges and grants of over $15 million for the construction of a new 44,100 square foot facility, including a 10,000 sq. ft. auditorium to facilitate a full-size basketball court, two practice courts, or three volleyball courts, four indoor pickleball courts, and a community meeting space. The Community Center at Lake Chelan will also include an indoor children’s play structure, affordable office space, a 25-yard competition swimming pool, pickleball, sand volleyball, and MORE! The Seven Acres Foundation is confident in the support of the local community in Manson and Chelan and is looking forward to opening the doors. The goal for GivingTuesday is to raise $100,000.

“We are building a center that adds significant value and benefits to this area. Something that has been needed for many years. What makes me thankful about the Community Center is that it will be a hub for all the wonderful efforts in our valley. Organizations that serve our youth and families. Services that invest in our community. Activities that provide a place where we can all go to do good things for our health and well-being.”

– Brooke Isaak, Vice President, Seven Acres Foundation

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day encouraging people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has become a global movement that inspires millions to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

People demonstrate generosity in many ways on GivingTuesday. Whether helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes we care about, every act of generosity counts. GivingTuesday has raised billions of dollars for critical causes worldwide and gets 21 billion impressions on social media from people and organizations speaking up for the causes that matter to them and encouraging others to get involved in their communities.

“GivingTuesday inspires people all around the world to embrace their power to drive progress around the causes they care about, not just on one day but throughout the year,” said Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s CEO, and co-founder. “With country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds, GivingTuesday is creating a shared space where we can see the radical implications of a more generous world.”

About Seven Acres Foundation

The Seven Acres Foundation is the result of people and organizations who concern themselves with meeting the urgent and tangible needs of the Lake Chelan Valley and surrounding communities, coming together with a shared dream for a solution. Believing that making a difference in the Lake Chelan Valley was more important than having a place to meet, the original members of this effort quickly realized that they couldn’t do it alone. The Seven Acres Foundation was formed as a secular 501(c)(3) that would be the engine behind the Community Center at Lake Chelan and future projects of a similar nature.
