Board Member

Ricardo Castro’s roots run deep in the Lake Chelan Valley. Born in Wenatchee and raised in Manson, he is a proud graduate of Manson High School (Class of 2000) who brings over two decades of public service experience to the Lake Chelan Community Center.

Currently serving as Facilities Specialist for the City of Chelan, Ricardo has dedicated the past three years to maintaining and improving our community’s public spaces. His extensive background includes 18 years with the U.S. Forest Service as a wildland firefighter, where he gained invaluable experience in emergency operations, logistics, and field leadership.

Ricardo’s passion lies in community development and helping organizations grow their capacity for impact. He is most inspired by creating inclusive spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect and belong.

Beyond his professional role, Ricardo serves as Vice President of the City Union and is a member of the local middle school board. He also volunteers his time coaching and mentoring youth in soccer, basketball, and wrestling. His proudest achievement is carrying forward the legacy of his parents—migrant workers whose example taught him the value of hard work, humility, and service to others.

When he’s not serving his community, Ricardo enjoys the outdoors, working on cars, and spending time with his wife, Tina Soltero, and their two children, Keyma Fey and Jose Ricardo. The Castro family makes their home in Chelan, Washington.
